Facebook Account Security Setup: questions we hear most

Do you log in to my account to do this?

No. Security settings are personal, so we guide you through them on a screen-share or with written steps while you stay logged in. We never ask for passwords or login codes.

Why an authenticator app instead of text messages?

Codes sent by text can be intercepted if someone takes over your phone number. An authenticator app keeps the codes on your own device, which makes them much harder to steal.

Will this stop my account from ever being hacked?

No setup can promise that. It removes the most common ways accounts are taken over, such as reused passwords and missing two-factor login, and it makes a takeover easier to notice and reverse.

What if someone on my team refuses to use two-factor?

Then they should not have access to your business. You can require two-factor for everyone in your business settings, and we explain how to switch it on without locking anyone out.

My account was already hacked. Can you help?

Recovering a hacked account has to go through Meta’s official recovery process, and only the account owner can do it. We explain the right starting point, then secure the account once you have access again.

How often should we repeat this?

Review people, partners and sessions about every three months, and whenever someone leaves. The Total package includes a written routine your team can follow.
